This artwork by James Paterson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Still Life Of A Black Bottle And Apples sold for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 33,758.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Paterson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Green Jug sold at auction in October 2002 with the realized price of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 56,708.38).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Paterson erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Still Life Of A Black Bottle And Apples für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 33.758,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von James Paterson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Green Jug im Oktober 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 56.708,38).
