Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Portrait of Harriet Bailey Foster, later Mrs Charles Kennett (c. 1784-1851), as a child, full-length, in a white dress and bonnet, holding a basket and a chick, in a rural landscape by James Northcote was sold in the Old Masters and British Paintings auction at Christies in London in December 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,730.84). Admittedly, works by James Northcote have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 64,551.93).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Portrait of Harriet Bailey Foster, later Mrs Charles Kennett (c. 1784-1851), as a child, full-length, in a white dress and bonnet, holding a basket and a chick, in a rural landscape von James Northcote wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Masters and British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.730,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Northcote auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 64.551,93).
