In September 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Bacchanalia by James Montgomery Flagg for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,309.74). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by James Montgomery Flagg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work I Want You For U.S. Army in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,985.89).
