Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Paintings, which included the work Cabeza Vi by James Mathison. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,671.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Mathison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Puño, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,149.54).
