Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Untitled (Smash Capitalism ) by James Lynch. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,080.00 (€ 634.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James Lynch have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2009 the work Australian Untitled (No Vacancy Red Factory Door) was auctioned for AUD 1,320.00 (€ 776.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Untitled (Smash Capitalism ) von James Lynch zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.080,00 (€ 634,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von James Lynch konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im August 2009 die Arbeit Australian Untitled (No Vacancy Red Factory Door) für AUD 1.320,00 (€ 776,05) versteigert.
