Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Bridled Horse Held By A Groom, A Dog By His Side by James Loder of Bath was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,113.90). Other works by James Loder of Bath have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2007 by the work British Preparing For The Hunt, A Dapple Grey And A Bay Hunter In A Stable at USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,361.38).
