In May 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work The Red Cloud by Jock Macdonald. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 33,000.00 (€ 25,788.26), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jock Macdonald; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Zero Flame sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of CAD 39,000.00 (€ 28,421.62).

Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Red Cloud von Jock Macdonald zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CAD 33.000,00 (€ 25.788,26) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jock Macdonald; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Zero Flame im November 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von CAD 39.000,00 (€ 28.421,62).
