Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Hammock by James Tissot was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,608,000.00 (€ 1,868,038.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James Tissot have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2013 the work A Visit To The Yacht (La Visite Au Navire) was auctioned for GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 2,658,888.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Hammock von James Tissot kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.608.000,00 (€ 1.868.038,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von James Tissot konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2013 die Arbeit A Visit To The Yacht (La Visite Au Navire) für GBP 2.210.500,00 (€ 2.658.888,67) versteigert.
