Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Holland could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work View of the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Venice changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,630.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Holland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Colleoni Monument, Venice in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 51,518.40).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Holland konnte im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit View of the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Venice für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.630,62) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Holland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Colleoni Monument, Venice im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 51.518,40).
