Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bridge Of Sighs, Venice by James Holland was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,459.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Holland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Colleoni Monument, Venice in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 51,518.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Bridge Of Sighs, Venice von James Holland wurde im Juli 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.459,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Holland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Colleoni Monument, Venice im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 51.518,40).
