Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Holland could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Peonies, a poppy and marigolds in a glass vase changed hands for GBP 562.50 (€ 693.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Holland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Colleoni Monument, Venice in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 51,518.40).
