Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in a grey suit by James Hayllar for GBP 60.00 (€ 88.05). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Paintings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hayllar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Only Daughter in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 61,063.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in a grey suit von James Hayllar für GBP 60,00 (€ 88,05) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hayllar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Only Daughter im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 61.063,18).
