The work British As Tall As Mother by James Hayllar was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,337.38), 52% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Hayllar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Only Daughter in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 61,063.18).

Die Arbeit British As Tall As Mother von James Hayllar wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.337,38) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Hayllar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Only Daughter im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 61.063,18).
