Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Riverside Farm by Haughton Forrest. The price achieved of AUD 11,352.50 (€ 6,632.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Haughton Forrest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 65,725.00 (€ 40,238.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Riverside Farm von Haughton Forrest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 11.352,50 (€ 6.632,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Haughton Forrest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 65.725,00 (€ 40.238,76).
