In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work A Flagship Announcing Her Arrival At The Anchorage by James Hardy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,057.77), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Hardy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A successful shoot in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,965.09).
