This work of art by James Godsell Middleton could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures auction, the work Portrait Of Fanny Mayor changed hands for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,158.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Godsell Middleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a lady, bust-length, in a pink dress and black shawl and garnet and diamond pendant, in a feigned oval, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,464.77).
