This artwork by James Franco achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Space, 2016 sold for USD 7,012.50 (€ 5,798.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Franco; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Orange Face, 2011 sold at auction in February this year with the realized price of USD 7,905.00 (€ 7,456.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Franco erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Space, 2016 für USD 7.012,50 (€ 5.798,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von James Franco; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Orange Face, 2011 im Februar diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 7.905,00 (€ 7.456,14).
