This artwork by James Ferrier Pryde achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2007. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work The Cinder (Sketch for The Shell or The Cinder) sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,385.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ferrier Pryde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Red Ruin in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 106,007.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Ferrier Pryde erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wurde die Arbeit The Cinder (Sketch for The Shell or The Cinder) für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.385,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Ferrier Pryde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Red Ruin im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 106.007,14).
