Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by James Edward Hervey MacDonald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Toronto in June 2010. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Trees, West Toronto sold for CAD 36,000.00 (€ 27,614.35) - well above the upper estimate of CAD 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Edward Hervey MacDonald erzielte im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in Toronto einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wurde die Arbeit Trees, West Toronto für CAD 36.000,00 (€ 27.614,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CAD 16.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Edward Hervey MacDonald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wind Clouds im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 589.000,00 (€ 440.078,24).
