Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gull River by James Edward Hervey MacDonald was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2010. The price achieved of CAD 24,000.00 (€ 17,931.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).
