Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Lilacs And Elms With Cows, Thornhill by James Edward Hervey MacDonald for CAD 24,000.00 (€ 17,931.88). This price was achieved in the auction Important Canadian Art at Sothebys in Toronto and was even below the estimate range of CAD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).
