Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thomson'S Rapids, Magnetawan River by James Edward Hervey MacDonald was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 33,000.00 (€ 25,313.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).

Die Arbeit Thomson'S Rapids, Magnetawan River von James Edward Hervey MacDonald wurde im Juni 2010 in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert.
