Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Sunset, Lake Simcoe by James Edward Hervey MacDonald. The price achieved of CAD 94,500.00 (€ 72,487.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset, Lake Simcoe von James Edward Hervey MacDonald zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 94.500,00 (€ 72.487,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Edward Hervey MacDonald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wind Clouds im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 589.000,00 (€ 440.078,24).
