The work Layton'S Lake, Algoma by James Edward Hervey MacDonald was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in June 2010. The price achieved of CAD 60,000.00 (€ 46,023.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Edward Hervey MacDonald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wind Clouds in November 2010 with an auction result of CAD 589,000.00 (€ 440,078.24).
