Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work West of New York Harbor by James Edward Buttersworth was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 60,855.00 (€ 58,950.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Buttersworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Yacht "Magic" Defending America'S Cup, 1870 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 660,073.97).
