Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction August Americana | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Racing Yacht, Identified as the Sloop Yacht 'Haswell' by James Edward Buttersworth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,080.00 (€ 5,609.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Buttersworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Yacht "Magic" Defending America'S Cup, 1870 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 660,073.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion August Americana | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Racing Yacht, Identified as the Sloop Yacht 'Haswell' von James Edward Buttersworth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.080,00 (€ 5.609,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Edward Buttersworth erzielen.
