The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,189.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Edward Buttersworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Yacht "Magic" Defending America'S Cup, 1870 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 660,073.97).
