Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work A Continental street scene by James Duffield Harding for GBP 235.00 (€ 379.20). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Duffield Harding achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A crowded merchantman in the Channel amidst other shipping in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58).
