Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures, which included the work Bologna by James Duffield Harding. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 4,988.88), 19% above the upper estimate. Other works by James Duffield Harding have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58) in May 2007 for the work A crowded merchantman in the Channel amidst other shipping.
