Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work View in the South Tyrol by James Duffield Harding. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,069.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Duffield Harding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A crowded merchantman in the Channel amidst other shipping, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit View in the South Tyrol von James Duffield Harding zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.069,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Duffield Harding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A crowded merchantman in the Channel amidst other shipping beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.180,58) versteigert wurde.
