The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64), 70% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Dickson Innes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Camden Town: Night Scene sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 51,845.73).
