In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Peek-a-boo by James Cole. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,209.07), 49% above the upper estimate. Other works by James Cole have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,450.08) in June 2000 for the work In the stable.
