Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sunday morning after church by James Charles. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,538.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Charles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Darby and Joan in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 38,382.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunday morning after church von James Charles zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.538,79) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Charles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Darby and Joan im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 38.382,57).
