In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Amongst the corn by James Charles. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,458.06), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Charles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Darby and Joan in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 38,382.57).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amongst the corn von James Charles zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.458,06) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Charles auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Darby and Joan im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 38.382,57).
