Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Girl Asleep in an Armchair by James Butler was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,646.67), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by James Butler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bather in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,751.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Girl Asleep in an Armchair von James Butler kam im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.646,67) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Butler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bather im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.751,62).
