In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Vision, which included the work The Chicken House and A Coming Squall at Mattapoisett, Mass; two works by James Brade Sword. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,875.00 (€ 2,946.60), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Brade Sword - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Off the Rhode Island Coast, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,287.65).

Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Chicken House and A Coming Squall at Mattapoisett, Mass; two works von James Brade Sword zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.875,00 (€ 2.946,60) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von James Brade Sword mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Off the Rhode Island Coast beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.287,65) versteigert wurde.
