Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work A view of Bullock Castle and Bawn, Dalkey, Co. Dublin by James Arthur O'Connor. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 14,984.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Arthur O'Connor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 50,202.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Bullock Castle and Bawn, Dalkey, Co. Dublin von James Arthur O'Connor zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.755,00 (€ 14.984,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Arthur O'Connor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 33.460,00 (€ 50.202,32) versteigert wurde.
