Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Wooded Landscape With Figures At Sunset by James Arthur O'Connor was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 527.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Arthur O'Connor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 50,202.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Wooded Landscape With Figures At Sunset von James Arthur O'Connor im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 527,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Arthur O'Connor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 50.202,32).
