This artwork by Jagdish Swaminathan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2017. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,756.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jagdish Swaminathan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jagdish Swaminathan erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.756,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
