Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Bird, Tree And Mountain) by Jagdish Swaminathan. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 69,626.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jagdish Swaminathan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree And Mountain) von Jagdish Swaminathan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 69.626,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
