Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Bird And Rock Over Mountain) by Jagdish Swaminathan. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 55,803.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jagdish Swaminathan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Bird And Rock Over Mountain) von Jagdish Swaminathan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 55.803,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
