Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in Mumbai held the auction Boundless: India, which included the work The Sign Of The Houses by Jagdish Swaminathan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of INR 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of INR 687,500.00 (€ 8,672.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jagdish Swaminathan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in Mumbai die Auktion Boundless: India durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sign Of The Houses von Jagdish Swaminathan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von INR 600.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von INR 687.500,00 (€ 8.672,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
