Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections, which included the work Untitled (Turquois & Gold) by Jafar Rouhbakhsh. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,355.00 (€ 6,287.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jafar Rouhbakhsh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,431.65).
