Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacques Stella could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Judith With The Head Of Holofernes changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,348.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Stella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Charity in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 138,478.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Stella konnte im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Judith With The Head Of Holofernes für USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.348,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Stella auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Charity im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 138.478,58).
