In June this year Bonhams held the auction Art de l'Avant-Garde à nos jours 1912 – 2132, which included the work Spécial, Monophonie N°9 by Jacques Monory. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 38,400.00 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques Monory - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 92,940.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Art de l'Avant-Garde à nos jours 1912 – 2132 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spécial, Monophonie N°9 von Jacques Monory zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 38.400,00 und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques Monory mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 92.940,00 versteigert wurde.
