Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mandrill - Circa 1990 by Jacques Monory was auctioned at Artcurial in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 150.00 – 200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 66.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Monory achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966 in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 92,940.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mandrill - Circa 1990 von Jacques Monory im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Artcurial versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150,00 – 200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 66,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Monory erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 92.940,00.
