Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Baiser n°27 by Jacques Monory was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Monory achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966 in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 92,940.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Baiser n°27 von Jacques Monory im Oktober 2021 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.250,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Monory erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dimanche Matin (N°247 Bis), 1966 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 92.940,00.
