Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Road Through A Village, With Men Operating A Cider Press To The Right by Jacques François Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,921.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacques François Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Military Encampment At The Edge Of A Forest in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,930.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Road Through A Village, With Men Operating A Cider Press To The Right von Jacques François Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.921,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques François Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Military Encampment At The Edge Of A Forest im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.930,36).
