Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Ceres (An allegory of Autumn) by Jacques Blanchard for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,991.06). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Blanchard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Annonciation in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 48,000.00.
