Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Christ with the symbols of the Passion by Jacopo del Sellaio. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 56,896.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo del Sellaio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Esther Before Ahasuerus in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 856,000.00 (€ 678,073.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ with the symbols of the Passion von Jacopo del Sellaio zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 56.896,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacopo del Sellaio erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Esther Before Ahasuerus im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 856.000,00 (€ 678.073,51).
